I’m an Electrical Engineer/Physicist skilled in designing and implementing a broad range of high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective electronic systems, subsystems, and circuit boards and hybrids for high-technology companies.
I can develop electronics for your company on a short-term or long-term/permanent basis.
I have designed and implemented the electronics (20 pcb’s of 4 designs) for the Acoustec Imaging flow-imaging medical ultrasound instrument which was acquired by Siemens AG, and marketed as the Sonoline CF, capturing most of the european market.
And I have designed and implemented the Cooper multispot wafer scanning system (16 PCB’s of 4 designs) for KLA-Tencor. This system proved for the first time that, with the rignt electronics, inexpensive rotating scanners can produce images equal in quality to that of the more expensive rectilinear scanners.
Areas of expertise include Low-noise, highly-linear circuitry for amplifiers, a-to-d conversion and d-to-a conversion Sensor amplifiers (for photodetectors, APD’s, photomultipliers, CCD’s, TDI’s, ultrasound probes) High-voltage, high-bandwidth linear drivers Mixed analog/digital circuitry, avoiding noise from the proximity of analog and digital sections PCB and hybrid layout to minimize parasitics and support wideband performance Board and chassis-level power distribution Local networking and communication using various protocols over fiber and copper media System analysis and system error allocation Statistical and heuristic image analysis Host (C, C++ on Linux and Windows) coding, FPGA coding
